United Adworkers to Host Rich Kohnke Memorial Scholarship Fundraiser in Conjunction with Anniversary

An Evening of Enlightenment will recognize the organization’s 20th anniversary and serve as a fundraiser to help endow the Rich Kohnke MIAD scholarship.

MILWAUKEE — Apr 1, 2022 — United Adworkers, a professional non-profit serving Milwaukee’s advertising, marketing, and creative industries will host an event on April 7, at Enlightened Brewing Company (2020 S Allis St.) to mark the organization’s 20th anniversary, recognize loyal members and supporters, and posthumously honor an original member instrumental in the founding of the organization: Rich Kohnke.

“Rich was part of a core team of advertising leaders with a shared vision to create and sustain United Adworkers long into the future,” says United Adworkers Board President, Cory Ampe. “While we mourn his passing, we hope that supporting this memorial scholarship furthers that legacy by paving the way for a future creative leader.”

An Evening of Enlightenment will be open to the public and feature a live musical performance from Sleepy Gaucho and a silent auction to raise the remaining funds necessary to endow the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design’s Rich Kohnke scholarship.

Existing Adworkers and all advertising, marketing, and creative professionals and students are encouraged to attend and bring guests. Event-goers can donate, bid, and enjoy live music, games, beer, and pizza available throughout the night. Members of the Kohnke family will be in attendance to help celebrate Rich’s memory and involvement with United Adworkers over the years and accept donations made in his honor.

Enlightened Brewing Company is open from 4–10 p.m. on Thursdays. The event officially starts at 6 p.m. and ends at 10 p.m. when the venue closes.

If you are unable to attend, you can still donate to the Rich Kohnke scholarship fund at Donorbox.com, or renew your United Adworkers membership at UnitedAdworkers.com.

No tickets or payments are required for entry. United Adworkers follows the guidelines of state and local health departments and recommends wearing a mask to prevent the spread of COVID-19. However, masks are not required by the venue. There are no age restrictions for entry, but attendees must be 21 or older to bid on or consume alcohol at the event.

United Adworkers LTD is the Greater Milwaukee Area's premier non-profit organization for members of the advertising, marketing, and creative industries.
