Founder of Yonder Mountain, Jeff Austin took his life in 2019 and many blamed the remaining members of the band. These are his final recordings. One band member expressed indifference toward those who would inaccurately accuse the band of cashing in on his death: “I know we’re stepping on a hornets nest here, but it’s good music, it deserves to be out there.” We took that for direction. The result is a stark, one color package that captures all the energy and tension of these last tracks.
